MY PROFILE:

I have been working as BCO with EMAS - Ethnic Minority Achievement Services since 2003. I was previously based at Montem Primary School and also visited other Primary School such as Pooles Park, Grafton, Coopenhagen and others.

Together with the EMAS team we have organised many workshops, Family Learning Activities and Mother Tongue Classes for children and parents. We make sure that all parents recieve help and support from the school regading their children education. View our Activities for more details.

If you need our service, please contact us.

MY PROJECTS:

1. Mother Tongue classes

These are classes where children learn to read and write Albanian. They run as a morning club or as an after-school club.

2. Links with a charity organization-Shpresa Programme-in schools

The Albanian Charity Organisation, "Shpresa Programme", is running an after school club at Duncombe Primary School.

3. British Education System Workshop

This workshop was arranged for parents at Montem Primary School. They learned about the education system in UK and the National Curriculumn levels. The workshop was run by David Davies from the Ethink Minority Achievement Services Team.

4. Maths Workshop

This workshop was organised for parents and children at Montem Primary school. Two teachers from this school ran Maths sessions with parents first, then brought the children to join them in more classroom activities. Children were very happy to see their parents do Maths activites with them.

5. Traditional Dance Club

That was an after school club where children and parents learned how to do the traditional dance. It was fun and everyone had a great time.

6. Parents Meetings with Local Police, Housing Department, School Phsycologist at Montem Primary School

These meetings were organised by the school itself. Parents found these meetings very helpful because they got very valuable information regarding their problems and concerns.

7. SENCO Meetings

These meetings were very frequent because of some ongoing SEN issues. My role was interpreting during these meetings.
