Dr. Ann Jones (Teaching and Learning Manager: Secondary)

Ann Jones

I lead on the Secondary EMA work, and this year we are trialling partnership teaching with coaching in several secondary schools. We are also hoping to run at least one LILAC course in the summer term 2008.

I also spearhead our Bangladeshi work, and convene the Bangladeshi Education Forum, which has been running successfully for four years.  In July 2008 we will be holding a major educators` conference on the identity and achievement of pupils of Bangladeshi heritage.

My other major area of interest is the education of Turkish, Kurdish and Cypriot children, and I have just completed a PhD in this area at Reading University. A copy of my 2007 conference presentation, entitled “Identity, Aspirations and Constraints”, can be downloaded from here.
